Qualcomm has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will not be solely powered by its Snapdragon mobile platform.

During its recent earnings call, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon revealed that the company is expected to have the "majority share" for the upcoming launch of the Galaxy S24. The statement indicates that some Galaxy S24 models will likely be powered by non-Qualcomm chipsets.

Rumours of a non-Qualcomm variant of the Galaxy S24 series surfaced in April when Korean news site Maeil claimed thatSamsung plans to use the Exynos 2400 for some models.

This rumour came months after Qualcomm and Samsung extended their strategic partnership through the end of 2030. At that point, itdidn't make sense for the Galaxy S24 series to be using a non-Qualcomm chipset.

However, earlier last month, Samsung previewed the Exynos 2400 chipset which was stated to deliver a 1.7x increase in CPU and 14.7x boost in AI performance compared to the Exynos 2200.

Samsung is expected to hold a launch event for the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024. Satellite connectivity is tipped to be coming to at least one of the new models. Purported renders of the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S24+ suggest no major design change is on the table.
