Samsung brings Pro Ultimate microSD cards for professional content creators
Samsung Singapore has announced new flagship-grade microSD cards in its lineup, catering to professional content creators who need impressive read-and-write speeds for recording high quality content on the go.
The Samsung Pro Ultimate microSD lineup has UHS-I bus speed interface, offering a sequential read speed of 200MB/s and sequential write speed of 130MB/s. As such, it has Speed Class 10 and a Video Speed Class of V30, making it fast enough to keep up with large-sized 4K video recordings effortlessly.
Pro Ultimate microSD cards come in three sizes, between 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options.
Additional features include Samsung’s new 28-nanometre controller on the microSD card. The company said it has a 37% improvement in power efficiency and has an enhanced Error Correction Code engine, making it less power-hungry and more reliable at storing data safely.
It’s also proofed against water (72 hours, two metres depth), shock (drops from a height up to 5m), temperature (-25°C to 85°C), X-ray, magnets, and wearing out (up to 10,000 swipes).
Finally, it also comes with Application Performance Class 2 (A2), allowing it to double up as memory for installing apps and app data for Android devices.
Samsung said that the Pro Ultimate microSD card lineup is compatible with phones, tablets, handheld gaming consoles, action cameras, drones, PCs, and just about any modern device that can accept extra microSD storage.
The Samsung Pro Ultimate microSD card retails at S$30 (128GB), S$53 (256GB), and S$106 (512GB) on the Samsung Online Store, Lazada, Shopee, and major electronics retailers from 18 September 2023 onwards.
