Oppo just did a launch for the Find N3 Flip in India (YouTube keynote here), which means we at HWZ can do a sneak peek at what the brand's upcoming clamshell foldable is bringing to us.
The Oppo Find N3 Flip comes in three colours: Sleek Black (top left), Misty Pink (top right), and Cream Gold (bottom).
Flexform Capture, the ability to shoot with the phone propped up by its own hinge, makes a return. You can use it to shoot photos and videos with both displays acting as a viewfinder too.
Flexform Capture lets users take advantage of the Hasselblad cameras (50MP main, 48MP ultra-wide with 115° FOV, 32MP telephoto with 2x optical and 20x digital zoom). Oppo said that Hasselblad's contribution lies in the shooters' tuning and colour-grading.
Oppo Find N3 Flip comes with an improved Flexion Hinge. It's zero-gap, with 25% improved load-bearing strength, made of aircraft-grade stainless steel, andTÜV Rheinland-certified for 600,000 folds. All while staying IPX4 water resistant.
What's amazing is Oppo still keeping to a near-creaseless appearance on the 6.8-inch AMOLED (1-120Hz) Main Display, despite hinge improvements. As seen here, it is extremely hard to spot the crease even with sunlight directed at it. An improvement is the polariser-free design of the panel, making it compatible for viewing with sunglasses and lowering power consumption by 20%.
The clamshell's appearance also received plenty of attention. Oppo calls it the Cosmos Ring with Starlight Track design, and it has a curved glass rear for that extra premium touch.
Oppo added what Apple took away. Next to its Cover Display is a physical Alert Slider with three toggles: Silent (with no vibration too), Vibrate, and Ring.
Inside is a MediaTek 9200 chipset that's supported with a cross-hinge heat dissipation layer. The latter is two heat management plates with strips of cooling connecting both halves of the phone, making the entire device responsible for keeping its performance under control.
Like before, Oppo keeps a 4,300mAh battery within, and the same 44W SuperVOOC fast-charging technology for juicing up quickly. Here's the photo of the USB-C port responsible for the power input.
Here's another good look at this flagship device. It's only 7.79mm thin when unfolded, and a mere 16.45mm when packed up.
