In pictures: The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition is a glorious-looking card

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition graphics card has landed in our lab and although we can't share our benchmarks and impressions yet (these will have to wait till next week), we can show you how the card looks like.

For all the nitty-gritty of what's really cutting edge on this new GPU, jump over here. For more pictures, slide/scroll to the next image!

The new RTX 4090 Founders Edition retains the same design DNA as its RTX 30-series predecessors, which we alreadyconsidered it to be one of the best-looking graphics cards coming out from the NVIDIA factory.

There are some very subtle differences, though. Including slightly larger fans on both sides of the card.

To fit the fans, NVIDIA machined out curvatures on the fan slots. It's very cool, and also very impressive when seen in person.

First seen on RTX 3090 Ti cards, the12VHPWR power connector is used on the RTX 4090 and 4080 as well. You will also need a minimum 850W power supply unit to use withRTX 4090 cards.

The RTX 4090 Founders Edition comes with one DisplayPort and three HDMIports. AIB partners' boardswill likely have more.

Another subtle design difference from the RTX 30-series Founders Edition cardsare the curves on the sides of the RTX 4090 Founders Edition. NVIDIA really love their curves.

Interestingly, the rear of theRTX 4090 Founders Edition sports a cover, that when removed, reveals a part of the card that I, frankly, have no idea what it's used for at this moment.

In terms of aesthetics, the RTX 4090 Founders Edition exudes class and premium. Thanks in large part to NVIDIA's use of a large die-cast aluminum piece.

The RTX 4090 Founders Edition (center) is absolutely mammoth in size and outclass even the RTX 3090 Founders Edition. It makes the RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition (bottom) look puny in comparison.

A look at the cards' side profile also reveals how much chunkier the RTX 4090 Founders Edition(center) is as compared to theRTX 3090 Founders Edition, and will occupy four PCI slots in your PC.

Without the model markings, the RTX 4090 Founders Editionbears striking resemblance to the RTX 3090 Founders Edition.

The RTX 4090 will also come with a quad-8-pin to 16-pin adapter. And we thought the RTX 3080 Founders Edition double-8-pin and the RTX 3090 Ti's triple-8-pin adapters were bad enough. Time to shop for that ATX 3.0 PSU.

The NVIDIA RTX 4090 will be available from S$2,700 onwards on 12 October from NVIDIA's eshop.

In the meantime, check out our unboxing of the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC card too.
