The X2 Omni boasts a new distinctive square shape, a departure from Ecovacs’ previous models. This enables the robot to reach corners better and clean along walls. According to Ecovacs, it can cover an impressive 99.77% of open areas, although this specific percentage might be more of a marketing flourish than a practical metric. Besides the square chassis design, the X2 Omni also features a host of improved specs, advanced sensors, and AI upgrades that are the best-in-class among all previous Ecovacs robots. The X2 Omni delivers admirably. With 8,000Pa of suction power, it outperforms its predecessor, the X1 Omni (5,000Pa), significantly. It also has the widest roller bar brush (200mm), highest obstacle mounting capabilities (22mm), and the largest battery (6400mAh). It had no problems cleaning my whole apartment twice over, so that's about 200 sqm (2152 sqft) in overall size.
Still, the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is a commendable addition to the world of robotic floor cleaners. Its design innovations and advanced features make it a compelling choice for those seeking a smart and efficient daily cleaning companion. While AI navigation seems a touch unpredictable, it manages to fulfill its primary purpose – keeping the general areas of your home clean on a daily basis. As with any new technology or feature, understanding its nuances and adapting your living space for optimal performance is key to unlocking the X2 Omni's full potential. But don’t forget that you will still have to do a manual clean every now and then to get all the areas a robot will never be able to reach.
