AOC reveals 26.5-inch AGON OLED gaming monitor with 240Hz refresh rate
AOC has announced the 26.5-inch AGON Pro AG276QZD, an OLED gaming monitor with a lightning-fast 240Hz refresh rate and 0.01ms pixel response time. Designed for competitive FPS gamers, the screen also features an anti-glare panel with a low-reflectionpolariser, which should help if you have bright overhead lighting.
The monitor also has a crisp 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution, on par with offerings like the 27-inch LG UltraGearOLED 27GR95QE-B gaming monitor.
There are additional features to help with FPS games as well. This is the first AGON Pro monitor to have Sniper Scope and the new and improved Dynamic Dial Point. Sniper Scope lets you partially magnify the centre of the screen using three different-sized windows of 1x, 1.5x, and 2x magnification, while Dynamic Dial Point changes the colours of in-game crosshairs according to the combination of colours of the game background, presumably for improved contrast and clarity.
That said, these features do sound a little gimmicky, and it's unlikely that they'll see much use by seasoned FPS players.
Elsewhere, there is support for HDR10 and up to 1,000 nits peak brightness, alongside 100% coverage of the sRGB colour space and 98.5% of DCI-P3. This means excellent colour accuracy and visual vibrancy, according to AOC.
The AGON Pro AG276QZD checks yet another box when it comes to G-Sync compatibility for smooth and tear-free gameplay. Together with the 240Hz refresh rate, games should appear buttery smooth with no stuttering.
Finally, the pentagon base is designed to save desk space, freeing up more room while still providing good stability.
TheAGON Pro AG276QZD will be available to buy in August at US$799.
