Apple avails USB-C case for AirPods Pro (2nd-gen) as a standalone purchase
Apple quietly uploaded theMagSafe charging case (USB-C) for the AirPods Pro (2nd-gen)on its retail platforms as a standalone purchase.
When Apple first unveiled the AirPods Pro (2nd-gen) in September,the USB-C AirPods Pro case cannot be purchased independently. This move made some AirPods Pro (2nd-gen) owners slightly miffed, since they still had the old case witha Lightning charging port.
The MagSafe charging case (USB-C) for the AirPods Pro (2nd-gen) is priced at S$149.
At the time of publication, the USB-C case for AirPods Pro (2nd-gen) is not available for pickup at local Apple Stores. You'll need to receive them through delivery. Checks by HWZ saw a delivery datebetween 2 January and 9 January 2024 if it's purchased at the time of writing, putting it anywhere between 2-3 weeks its deliveryfulfilment.
Is it really necessary?
Should you get it? That depends on your appetite for cable variety and whether your wallet can withstand the blow. The case's list price is 40% of the official full price (both buds and USB-Ccase).
If your S$150 matters less than adying Lightning case, or if you want fewer cables lying around exposed in your home, then go ahead.
