Apple might announce new iPads later this month
While it seems unlikely that Apple will hold an October event this year, that doesn't mean it doesn't have any more new products to announce. Apple also has a history of making new product announcements in October via simple press releases.
There's a chance we might see new iPads. The most likely being an 11th-gen basic iPad. Apple has updated the basic iPad annually since 2017 so it's likely they might do the same.
After all, the basic iPad has much room for improvement, like a faster processor (the 10th gen is using an older A14 Bionic chip), and support for the second-generation Apple Pencil.
Apple might also announce a new iPad Air. The last model was released over a year and it's powered by the M1 chip. Now could be a good time to update it with the newer M2 chip.
The final possible new release might be a 7th-gen iPad mini. The last iPad miniis about two years old now and could use a spec-bump update to keep it competitive and fresh.
That said, Apple did say during its August earnings call that we should expect iPad revenue to drop double digits, which could be a hint that the company might not have any iPads exciting enough to drum up sales for the holiday season.
