The Asus ROG Phone 8 and Phone 8 Pro are just under a month away from being announced. But its fans won't let up, and dropped anin-depth leak from Windows Report with detailed images and specs of the phones ahead of the official CES 2024 unveil on 9 January, 2024 SGT.

The ROG phones have always been catered more towards gamers with the RGB aesthetic and gaming-centric accessories like snap-on coolers for optimal thermal performance. The ROG Phone 8 lineup, however, appears to be taking it in a more mainstream direction.

In the photos released by Windows Report, we can see that the ROG Phone 8’s sides are flatter, although still rounded to provide a more comfortable feel when holding it in the hand. The RGB ROG logo still remains on the back, along with the two-tone design and ROG’s “Dare To Win” and “GLHF” slogans.

Both devices are said to come with triple camera arrays, which seems corroborated by a teaser image posted on Asus’ Weibo page.

Windows Report also claims that both the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro will come equipped with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor along with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 16GB or 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, respectively. Both phones will also allegedly have UFS 4.0 storage, with the ROG Phone 8 offering 256GB while thePro variant will offer 512GB and 1TB of storage.

Both phones come with the same 6.78-inch display size, although the ROG Phone 8 will supposedly not have the same HDR10+ LTPO screen that supports an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate that the Phone 8 Pro will get. Thanks to a post on X (previously Twitter) from ASUS, we learnt that the screen can get up to 2,500 nits peak brightness, making it easy to view the display even when under bright sunlight.

There’s allegedly a 5,500mAh battery in both phones, with Quick Charge 5.0 and PD charging supported. Windows Report also states that a quick charger and Aero Case will be provided in the box, and the phones will run on Android 14 with an ASUS reskin called ROG UI.
