DJI has announced its new DJIMini 4 Pro, bringing a new camera drone to hobby drone pilots and videographers.

The DJI Mini 4 Pro is the successor to its 2022 model, but it now comes with more versatility in its shooting and more advanced technologies than before, all while keeping to its 249g body.

4K60FPS recording in HDR

DJI Mini 4 Pro offering 4K60FPS HDR recording.

The DJI Mini 4 Pro uses a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, but packs a new image processing platform with Dual Native ISO fusion. The latter technology combines shots at different ISO levels to attain good detailing and dynamic range.

DHI Mini 4 Pro shoots at 48 megapixels, using 4-in-1 Quad Bayer pixel-binning for 2.4μm pixel size, on top of its f/1.7 aperture. You’re getting 4K60FPS HDR video recording, 4K100FPS slo-mo shooting, and clearer Night Shots video mode with the enhancements made to the drone.

The drone also now offers True Vertical Shooting, which optimises your recordings for social media platforms and smartphone viewing. It also has a 60° large-angle tilt for more shooting flexibility, on top of digital video zoom to magnify photos (2x) and videos (4x).

DJI Mini 4 Pro's ActiveTrack 360 recording mode.

For true professionals, the DJI Mini 4 Pro has 10-bit D-Log M recording for post-production needs, on top of 48MP RAW.

LightCut, an app-based editing software for DJI Mini 4 Pro footage, can combine several of the drone’s proprietary filming techniques into one impressive-looking aerial footage. It can work with clips from ActiveTrack, MasterShots (movement templates for shooting), and QuickShots (fancy aerial manoeuvres, again for more footage).

Dodge everything

DJI Mini 4 Pro's omnidirectional sensing helps it avoid obstacles.

The DJI Mini 4 Pro now offers Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing and APAS 5.0 (Advanced Pilot Assistance System). These offer automatic braking and obstacle bypass to the drone’s in-flight capabilities, making it possible to dodge obstacles from all angles. It also comes with a built-in Return to Home system, so the drone can find its way back to you once it’s low on power.

According to DJI, the Mini 4 Pro has 34 minutes of flight time, and you can optionally increase it to 45 minutes with its Intelligent Flight Battery Plus add-on.
