The Honor X9b offers 5G and a 120Hz AMOLED screen for less than S$450
Barely four months after returning to Singapore, Honor just unveiled its 7th device, the X9b 5G for the local market.
Despite positioning it as a mid-range phone, the Honor X9b 5G has some impressive specs that are somewhat comparable to its flagship counterparts.
It comes with Honor's Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop technology for enhanced durability against accidental drops with the use of advanced cushioning materials, partial screen reinforcement, and surrounding buffer protection.
The X9b 5G sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED curved display with a120Hz refresh rate, a resolution of 2,652 x 1,200 pixels, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits.
Powering the X9b 5G are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 mobile platform, 12GB RAM, and MagicOS 7.2 that's based on Android 13.
The X9b 5G also comes with a 5,800mAh, and Honor claims itcan last up to 3 days on a single charge, and thebattery can retain 80% of its capacity even after 1,000 charge cycles. This is about two times more charge cycles for a typical lithium-ion battery.
On the rear is a triple camera system which consists ofa 108MP f/1.75 main camera, a 5MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera.
Other specs include IP53 ratings for water and dust resistance, 256GB of internal storage, a 16MP selfie camera, a USB-C port, and supportfor Bluetooth 5.1.
It's unlikely the Honor X9b 5G will light the world on fire, but it ticks a lot of boxes for anyone who's looking for a phone on a budget.
Availability and pricing
Honor is selling the X9b 5G at an attractive price of S$439 from 10 November at authorised retailers and selected consumer electronic stores. It will be exclusively launched on Shopee too.Every purchase of the Honor X9b 5G comes with a complimentary Honor Earbuds X5 worth S$70.
