LG has added a new PuriCare-branded, tower-shaped air purifier to its air-cleaning arsenal, and is bringing it to Singapore. Enter the LG PuriCare AeroTower 2-in-1 Purifying Fan Hit (which we’ll refer to as AeroTower Hit, or its model number FS15GPBK0).

For starters, AeroTower Hit has a CADR of 181m3/h, providing 23.2m2 area coverage. That is larger than its predecessor’s 19.6m2 coverage but specifically refers to its air purifying capabilities. For those who hate numbers, AeroTower Hit's covers more space thana modern BTO/HDB master bedroom.

It's got a fan now, therefore 2-in-1

A key upgrade from its predecessor is adding a proper fan unit, giving it its “2-in-1” and “purifying fan” moniker. LG said this unit comes with two airflow modes. First is Wide Mode, which grants “dynamic airflow” through 11 steps of wind strength.

You can literally turn the AeroTower Hit up to 11. Spec sheet claims it uses a brushless DC motor.

Then there is Natural Wind Mode, which users of the older AeroTower would be familiar with: it emulates a gentle breeze, automatically switching its wind strength around for an outdoorsy feel.

LG also kept its lowest wind setting at a whisper-quiet 23dB, which is helpful for users who need non-disruptive air filtration in the background. All these were made possible with no change in its size, keeping to its 265 x 265 x 1,120mm dimensions.

Proper H13 HEPA filter

LG also upgraded the filtration system on this purifier. Instead of the old “True HEPA” filters, the new AeroTower Hit offers H13 HEPA filtration. The change in filter quality meant that the new tower could capture 99.9% of fine dust (up from 99.7%) and trap 0.1-micron particulates (smaller than 0.3 microns previously).

Its new HEPA grade filter is still one part of its standard LG three-step filtration, sitting alongside a pre-filter (for trapping big particles) and deodorisation filter (for removing weird smells) to make it a truly HEPA-ning tower of clean air.

LG also added its proprietary bells and whistles to the air purifier, like its LG UVnano Technology, to remove up to 99.99% of airborne bacteria from its fan blades. Other perks also include a PM 1.0 sensor, a real-time LED indicator on the appliance, and compatibility with LG’s ThinQ app.
