Here are the benchmark scores for Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite
The Snapdragon X Elite is Qualcomm's attempt at disrupting the PC market, with a highly scalable and premium chipset with a focus on performance-per-watt and being the best AI processor in town.
Of its many claims, the Snapdragon X Elite is said to match its competitors peak performance while using 65-68% less power than them, plus it's capable of significantly higher peak performance and has AI processing that 10x faster than the competition.
More about the new chipset can be found here.
In this article, we'll look at the Snapdragon X Elite's expected benchmark numbers, per our experience with benchmarking during Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit 2023.
Two reference designs showcasing scalability
As with all benchmarks, we need to disclaim the types of devices used to have a better representation on what these laptop processors can truly offer.
For the Snapdragon X Elite, Qualcomm provided two laptop form factors for demonstration, which we shall call Demo Config A and Demo Config B. Both form factors are supposed to represent common configurations made by OEMs that either prioritise portability or performance, with power ratings to match. We'll leave it to you to guess which famous notebooks they are modeled after, but here's what Qualcomm provided.
Demo Config A | Demo Config B | |
---|---|---|
Device TDP | 80W Max | 23W |
Height | 16.8mm | 15mm |
Display | 3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution, 15.6-inch, TFT panel | 2,880 x 1,800 pixels resolution, 14.5-inch, OLED panel |
Battery | 87Wh (3S2P cell layout) | 58Wh (3S1P cell layout) |
Qualcomm deliberately had these two vastly different designs to showcase the behaviour and results of Snapdragon X Elite in these devices, where different form factors can still bring out effective mileage across a wide range of power ratings.
