Qualcomm just announced the successor to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 platform.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is the first 4nm platform in the 4-series, and is designed to offer extended battery life and improve overall platform efficiency.

The Qualcomm Kryo CPU has two performance cores clocked up to 2.2GHz, and 6 efficiency cores running at 2.0GHz. Compared to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 offers up to 10% better CPU performance.

With Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 can refill up to 50% of a battery in just 15 minutes. Other specs include support for 120fps FHD+ displays, Multi-Camera Temporal Filtering (MCTF) to deliver better noise reduction for videos, and Snapdragon X61 5G modem.

Qualcomm says key OEM brands such as Redmi and vivo will be using Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 in their commercial devices from the second half of this year.
