Samsung might not be the first to release a triple-folding phone in 2024

Huawei is rumoured to be launching a triple-folding phone by March 2024.

Huawei could beat Samsung to be the first in launching a triple-folding phone.

Based on recent reports from industry sources, TrendForce claims Huawei's development of a triple-folding phone is advancing smoothly and could be launched by March 2024. The triple-folding phone was initially scheduled to be unveiled by the end of this year according to display analyst Ross Young.

Reports surfaced as early as 2020 on Samsung developing triple-folding devices. The company confirmed in 2021 that it is working on more innovative form factors to strengthen its position in the display market. Samsung even showcased a new range of foldable displays which included the S-Foldable OLED panel that can fold twice.

Earlier this year, tipster @heyitsyogesh shared that Samsung might ship a triple-folding device alongside the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5. This obviously did not materalise.

With Huawei's rumoured return to the global market in the near future and other Chinese phone brands releasing new foldable devices, Samsung could see its market share decline further in 2024.
