Solvil et Titus x Demon Slayer limited-edition collection will have 8 unique individual timepieces
Swiss watchmakers Solvil et Titus have recently unveiled a collaboration that's sure to catch the eyes of anime fans, especially those who follow the Demon Slayer series. This limited-edition collection comprises eight individual timepieces, each themed around key characters from the massively popular anime.
While most watch collections pay homage to eras, cultures, or technologies, this Solvil et Titus x Demon Slayer collection takes a different route. It focuses on characters: Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, the trio of Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke; and the Hashiras of the Demon Slayer Corps, namely Tengen Uzui, Muichiro Tokito, and Mitsuri Kanroji. The watches aren't merely decorative; they tell a story.
This narrative-driven approach is evident in the packaging. Customers receive each watch in a set that includes a unique flash certificate card bearing its serial number, an exclusive watch box, a limited-edition watch cloth, and a travel bag inspired by Nezuko’s iconic wooden box. It's a whole experience designed to enrich the fan's connection to the anime series.
Craftsmanship also seems to be a key focus of the collection, akin to the level of attention the characters in Demon Slayer pay to their Nichirin blades. For example, The Trio Friends watch features Solvil et Titus' Saber watch dial in a violet colourway, adorned with elements of wisteria – symbolic of their collective will to fight demons. The violet theme continues with a charcoal stainless steel case engraved with the initials of the three characters, and watch hands in light gold. Fans will notice signature motifs subtly included on the steel bracelet's inner buckle and a surface equipped with super luminous processing.
Keen-eyed fans can look forward to other nuanced details that correspond to their favourite characters. Tanjiro’s checked coat is referenced on his watch’s black stainless steel case, Inosuke’s boar mask is cleverly set against a midnight blue dial, and a thunder motif finds its place on Zenitsu’s stainless steel bracelet buckle.
The Tengen and Muichiro designs differ slightly, trading in stainless steel cases for leather straps. These straps are printed with the patterns of their respective swords and laser-engraved with the silhouettes of the characters. Nezuko and Mitsuri get special treatment with watches from the Aspira collection, featuring finishes in light gold and rose gold respectively.
Priced at $690 each or $3,400 for a set of five, the watches are available for pre-orders on the Solvil et Titus website.
