Tecno announces Phantom V Flip clamshell foldable phone, global product launch to be held in Singapore
Tecno today (8 September 2023) announced the launch of the Phantom V Flip, its answer to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Oppo Find N2 Flip clamshells.
In its official statement for its other markets, Tecno also said that the Phantom V Flip’s launch event will be held in Singapore, on 22 September 2023.
This is Tecno’s first-ever foldable display smartphone with a clamshell form factor. No specification details were shared in its press statement, but Tecno has hinted that the flip phone will be at least flagship or premium flagship grade, as the launch event “will bring together the worlds of luxury-level aesthetics and advanced technologies”.
“As Tecno’s debut flip smartphone, Phantom V Flip 5G reflects Tecno’s commitment to exploring new form factors and redefining the style and functionality of flip phones for passionate, fashionable, and forward-looking audiences. The new device is the latest revolutionary smartphone from Tecno’s premium sub-brand, Phantom, a pioneer in pushing the boundaries of creative and innovative smartphone design and pioneering in technology innovations,” said Tecno official statement.
The second hint is the sub-brand for this foldable handset. Tecno parks its flagship-tier mobile devices in the Phantom lineup, much like its concept phone with a rollable display.
