Apple AirTag shows United lying about the whereabouts of missing luggage

AirTags show United lying about the whereabouts of missing luggage

If you don't already know what AirTags are, I suggest you read my review. But briefly, they are Bluetooth trackers that take advantage of Apple's vast network of devices to locate objects that they are attached to.

And in the case of this story, the AirTags were attached to a woman's luggage who recently travelled with United Airlines.

Luggage go missing all the time but what's interesting and damning about this story is how United Airlines continued to lie about the whereabouts of the luggage even when they were confronted about it.

Thanks to her AirTag, the woman, Valerie Szybala, was able to tell that her luggage was sitting in an apartment complex.

And when asked why her luggage was sitting in an apartment, United responded with the following:

I am sorry. I don't know why it is showing it there. But your bag is safe at the Delivery services distribution centre.

Curiously, the attached AirTag showed the luggage leaving the apartment complex to go to a McDonalds before returning afterwards.

Fortunately, the story has a happy ending as Szybala was finally reunited with her missing luggage.

As I said in the review, if you have an iPhone and you need a tracker, there's no reason to get anything other than AirTags.

And when it comes to flying, they are an extremely affordable and effective way to make sure your luggage is on the same flight as you.
