Could we really be getting new MacBook Pros?

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple's "Scary Fast"event next week will see the unveiling of the M3 chip and new MacBook Pros.

Kuo thinks Apple might even announce the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips all at one go, which would also mean new 13, 14, and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

This is echoed by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who noted that Apple's MacBook Pro inventory has run dry, which could meanthat new models are on the way.

This is interesting because Apple only updated the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro earlier this year with theM2 Pro and M2 Max chips. And just weeks ago, both Kuo and Gurmansaid that it's unlikely Apple will launch the M3 chip this year.

Launching the M3 chip now will likely cause some problems for Apple, mostly because its upcoming Vision Pro headsetwill be powered by the existing M2 chip.Having newMacs with the M3 chips will only make the Vision Pro look dated at launch.

However, reports say that Macs sales are faltering and that many customers are waiting forApple's new M3 chip. Apple unveiled the M2 chip back in June last year, so it's been 16 long months.

Perhaps they are feeling a little threatened by Qualcomm, who just announced its new Snapdragon Elite X platform earlier today.
