Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 have double the storage capacity
Besides a new S9 processor, brighter displays, and the 2nd-generation Ultra Wide Band chip, the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 also come with an unannounced upgrade – more storage capacity.
The Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 are the first smartwatches from Apple to sport 64GB storage. It is also the first time in four years that Apple bumped up the storage capacity on the standard models.
Having more storage space allows you to download more songs, apps, and photos on the Apple Watch. More importantly, ample storage space on the Apple Watch ensures that you have no issue updating to the latest software updates. Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) users struggled to update their devices to watchOS 7.5 due to the limited onboard storage space (8GB).
While 64GB storage capacity is an overkill for most consumers, we certainly welcome the storage bump for the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
