Dell’s new UltraSharp monitors get 120hz refresh rates and 5-star Eye Comfort certification
Dell has announced the launch of four new UltraSharp work monitors with two 24-inch monitors (U2424H and U2424HE) and two 27-inch models (U2724D and U2724DE).
As a treat for the eyes, all four monitors have double the current UltraSharp monitors’ refresh rate to a fast 120Hz to deliver smoother and sharper motion visuals and a 16:9 aspect ratio.
In terms of connectivity, they come with a single HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 ports, plus a 3.5 mm jack, three USB Type-A ports (SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps, USB 3.2 Gen 2) and a USB Type-C port (SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps, USB 3.2 Gen 2) that also provides 15 W USB Power Delivery.
The two 27-inch models have a resolution of 2560 x 1440, while the other two 24-inch monitors are 1920 x 1080.
But unlike the U2724D and U2424H, the U2724DE and U2424HE are called Thunderbolt Hub Monitors and come with a Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C port respectively that you can use to plug in and can supply up to 90W of power to a laptop for example.
Dell adds that the new monitors are easy on the eyes thanks to a new industry standard for eye comfort developed by TUV Rheinland.
Now, of the four, only two 27-inch monitors actually meet the standard. They come with Improved ComfortView Plus which brings a significant reduction in harmful blue light exposures a further 15% over current models. They also have a built-in Ambient Light Sensor that detects ambient lighting conditions and automatically adjusts screen brightness and colour tone settings to match. This can frequency of eye fatigue by 7 to 17 percent.
