Godzilla is back in Apple TV+'s latest Monarch: Legacy of Monsters trailer
At the New York Comic Con, Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer to what could arguably be its biggest addition to its streaming platform yet.
The creative ensemble behind Monarch: Legacy of Monsters also shared an early look into the upcoming drama, set to premiere globally on November 17 with two episodes, followed by a weekly rollout through January 12. The series features a strong cast including Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski.
The series picks up in the aftermath of a cataclysmic battle between Godzilla and the Titans, which left San Francisco in ruins and unleashed the unsettling revelation that monsters are, indeed, real. But this isn't simply a tale of reptilian giants smashing cityscapes; at its heart, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is about family. Following two siblings as they delve into their father's mysterious past, the series takes us on a quest to uncover their family's link to the enigmatic organisation known as Monarch.
Here's where it gets compelling: clues send them spiralling down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, set in dual timelines – the 1950s and half a century later. The narrative weaves an intricate web around the present and the past, delving into buried family secrets and the repercussions of earth-shattering events that span three generations.
November 17 can’t come soon enough.
