Gojek expands its Singapore transport options to families with kids
Gojek today (3 January 2023) announced additional transport options to complement its ride-hailing services, targeting families with children aged four to seven years old.
Gojek’s new GoCar Kids and GoCar XL Kids are officially available through Gojek’s Singapore app from 10 January 2023 onwards. Vehicles booked using these services come with one child seat for children that are 1 to 1.35m tall.
GoCar Kids can accept up to three adults and one child, while GoCar XL Kids can accept up to five adults and one child. Drivers of these rides have to meet Gojek’s requirements, which include online training, verification, and demonstrable knowledge of installing and providing child seats. Only drivers with a minimum of4.6 stars rating are also allowed to provide GoCar Kids or GoCar XL Kids services.
Installed child seats in GoCar Kids and GoCar XL Kids services are also from Gojek-approved brands, which in turn meets the standards set out by our local Traffic Police force.
In return, Gojek drivers who provide these new services also get an extra S$2 more than regular GoCar and GoCar XL trips – althoughGojek did not specify where the extra S$2 comes from. Gojek added that platform fees, service fees, and other driver fees remain unchanged.
"We are excited to kickstart 2023 with a new service offering – GoCar Kids and GoCar XL Kids. Families travelling with young children have often requested this feature for greater safety and convenience, and it also allows driver-partners additional earnings opportunities as well," saidLien Choong Luen, General Manager of Gojek Singapore.
GoCar Kids and GoCar XL Kids are available alongside existing travel options like GoCar Premium, GoCorp, and GoCar XL, starting from app version 4.58 onwards (iOS, Android).
