Some owners of Google's new Pixel 8 Pro are complaining of bumps under their phones' screens. According to these owners, it appears as if something underneath the display is pressing up on it, resulting in these bumps.

According to photos shared by affected users, the bumps appear to be concentrated near the top of the display.

Although these bumps currently don't impact the phone's functionality or affect image quality, there's a fear that they will worsen over time.

Google has since acknowledged the issue but said that this is because of the Pixel 8 Pro's new display and that users need not worry. A spokesperson said:

Pixel 8 phones have a new display. When the screen is turned off, not in use and in specific lighting conditions, some users may see impressions from components in the device that look like small bumps. There is no functional impact to Pixel 8 performance or durability.

I'm not sure if this is what users wanted to hear. The Pixel 8 Pro is Google's flagship phone and costs a pretty penny. I think owners want to hear that their investments are protected. An extended warranty should the issue worsen will go a long way in helping to alleviate these owners' fears.
