Larger displays, faster connectivity, and new ultra-wide camera said to be coming to the iPhone 16 Pro
The Apple iPhone 16 Pro might come with several significant upgrades.
Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu shared in his investor note that the iPhone 16 Pro models are likely to come with slightly bigger display sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches.
This corroborates rumours of bigger display sizes for the iPhone 16 Pro models that were previously shared by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, display analyst Ross Young, and 9to5Mac.
Pu also stated that the iPhone 16 Pro will be getting the tetra-prism lens for 5x optical zoom, a feature that is currentlyexclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
In addition, both iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to be equipped with a new ultra-wide camera, which will see the megapixel count jump from the current 12MP to 48MP. Apple has not upgraded the ultra-wide lens on the Pro models since the iPhone 13 Pro in 2021.
In terms of connectivity, Pu says the iPhone 16 Pro will deliver faster Wi-Fi 7 and 5G speeds with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X75 modem.
The upgrades are expected to be modest for the regular non-Pro iPhones with the likely inclusion of some variant of the A17 chip, extra memory, and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
