Jabra launches the PanaCast 50 Video Bar System that comes with a new Android-based compute unit

Jabra’s new PanaCast 50 Video Bar System, sees its familiar BYOD PanaCast 50 webcam bar now built-in with Android compute and paired with a 10.1-inch touch-enabled control.
A video bar system is an integrated solution designed to enhance the experience of video meetings and collaboration. Usually built around a soundbar, a video bar system incorporates high-quality speakers, a microphone array, and a camera into an integrated video system. Sometimes accompanied by a remote compute unit, these integrated video systems allow for a seamless meeting room experience which is easy to manage and eliminates the need to connect other devices, such as your laptop.
The PanaCast 50 webcam bar needs to be plugged into an external display, plus a laptop or PC for it to work, whereas the PanaCast 50 Video Bar System uses its compute unit to run Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms on Android natively and securely. Everything needed for video meetings is embedded in the PanaCast Control for a one-touch start/join without requiring any additional devices, allowing simple, secure, and scalable deployment and management in any small to medium-sized rooms.
It also features the same full-room coverage as the original webcam bar, with its 180° field of view, three 13-megapixel cameras,and apanoramic4K multi-camera array. It has eight professional-grade beamforming microphones with voice detection and intelligent algorithms that automatically identify and remove residual echoes and static noise. Finally, there are four speakers in a zero-vibration stereo setup.
Meanwhile, its Intelligent Meeting Room Experiences, which include the Virtual Director, Intelligent Zoom and Dynamic Composition, provide an engaging experience for remote participants. It also featuresHDMI-wired content sharing, proximity join and dual-display support.
Pricing and availability
Back when we first covered the launch of the Jabra PanaCast 50 webcam bar back then it retailed for S$1,855although current prices have it at S$2,246. Now, the PanaCast 50 Video Bar System has a retail price of S$6,670 and is available from Jabra’s authorised resellers and distributors.

Apart from high-definition4K video and the compute unit (with certified Teams and Zoom support), there seems little else between them. We reached out to Jabra on this and they replied with, "The PanaCast 50 Video Bar System is priced higher compared to the PanaCast 50 standalone due to the addition of the compute system which is inbuilt into the PanaCast 50, certified under the strict requirements of Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms, and comes with a controller to start, join, share content and end meetings with a single tap. The PanaCast 50 Video Bar System pricing is comparable to other rooms systems in the market."
