OnePlus 12 launches in China, wireless charging returns
The OnePlus 12 has been officially announced in China in time for OnePlus’s 10th anniversary. Here are some of the key features on what to expect with its new flagship handset.
According to GSMArena, the OnePlus 12 now has 50W wireless charging which was previously not available on the OnePlus 11. Wireless charging may not necessarily be power efficient, but the convenience it brings can be a huge plus point for some users. For wired charging, OnePlus 12 gets 100W SuperVOOC.
Some previous rumours about the phone’s physicality and specifications proved true. OnePlus 12 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor within, and it’s fronted by a 6.82-inch curved LTPO AMOLED display (3,168 x 1,440 pixels resolution, 1-120Hz refresh rate).
OnePlus said that the display has a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, but it tops off at 1,600-nits during normal phone use. It also offers 2,160Hz PWM dimming and a blue light filter.
With the Hasselblad logo so prominently displayed in its first looks, it comes to no one’s surprise that the OnePlus 12 offers a Hasselblad-tuned 50MP main camera using Sony Lytia’s LYT-808 sensor. The main camera is accompanied by a 64MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 48MP ultra-wide shooter.
Android lovers will be pleased to know that OnePlus 12 comes with ColorOS 14.0, which is a reskin of Android 14. It also supports the latest connectivity solutions like USB-C 3.2, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. OnePlus also made sure to include IP65 water and dust resistance on the handset. The phone also has a massive battery at 5,400mAh.
