Oppo Reno11 series launches in China with gemstone design and Android 14
Oppo today announced the official launch of its Reno11 series phones in China via its livestream keynote, introducing the Reno11 and Reno11 Pro.
The new phones feature a refreshed "gemstone design" with three types of lustre reflecting off the phone's physique: starlight, pearlescent light, and moonlight. The camera housing also gets a unique ring with gemstone cut edges, which sees Oppo going all in on the jewellery aesthetic with these new phones.
Now, on to what they offer within.
Oppo Reno11
The Oppo Reno11 packs a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display (2,412 x 1,080 pixels resolution) with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ support, and 2,160Hz PWM dimming with 950-nits peak brightness.
Underneath is a MediaTek 8200 chipset, LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,800mAh battery with 67W wired SuperVOOC charging.
It's an Android 14 phone, no doubt, but it's cloaked under Oppo's ColorOS 14 reskin.
Reno series phones have always focused on their external design and photography capabilities. The Reno11 features a 50MP primary camera (packing a Sony LYT-600 sensor), an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto with 2x optical zoom. The 32MP front camera is for selfies and video calls.
Oppo Reno11 has dual 5G SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.4. It's not clear if there is IP-rated water or dust resistance.
In China, the Oppo Reno 11 retails at CNY2,499 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage), with CNY2,799 (12+256GB) and CNY2,999 (12+512GB) variants available. Local pricing and availability will be announced if it's available here.
Oppo Reno11 Pro
The Oppo Reno11 Pro takes everything great about the base version and supercharges it in several areas.
First is the display, which has a higher pixel density given a similar display size (6.74-inch AMOLED) with a higher pixel count (2,772 x 1,240 pixels resolution). The peak brightness is also higher, at 1,200 nits.
Second, is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, a flagship-grade mobile phone processor from late 2022. It's an excellentchipset even today, meaning the Oppo Reno11 Pro can rival pricey flagship phones from two generations ago.
The 50MP main camera uses a different Sony IMX890 sensor instead, but shares the same ultra-wide and telephoto shooter.
While it has a smaller 4,700mAh battery, it has faster 80W SuperVOOC wired charging. Oddly, its official China specifications page cites Bluetooth 5.3 instead of Bluetooth 5.4.
In China, Oppo Reno11 Pro comes in two variants. It starts at CNY3,499 (12+256GB), alongside a pricier CNY3,799 (12+512GB) version. Local pricing and availability will be updated when they're announced here.
