Samsung pays homage to the E700 with the limited edition Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro
Samsung is releasing a limited edition Galaxy Z Flip5 in selected markets to pay homage to the SGH-E700.
The SGH-E700 was released 20 years ago and wasthe first phone from Samsung to have a built-in antenna. Samsung says the E700 played a critical role in strengthening its position in the phone industry.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Retrosports several signature features of the E700 such as the combination of indigo blue and silver tones, a UX design reinterpretation of 2000s pixel graphics, and an exclusive animation on the Flex window that portrays a cityscape.
Other exclusive merchandise includesthree Flipsuit cards featuring logos from different eras of Samsung's history, a Flipsuit case, and a collector card engraved with a unique serial number.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro is available in limited quantities in Korea, the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Australia.
Samsung did not close pricing details, but it's reasonable to expect it to cost a fair bit more than the S$1,498 starting price of the standard Galaxy Z Flip 5.
