Fans of the Spy x Family manga and anime are in for a treat. Bandai Namco has announced that the franchise is set to make its video game debut in the form of SpyxAnya: Operation Memories.

Taking on the persona of Anya Forger, the telepathic orphan adopted by Loid Forger, players are thrust into a unique mission. The storyline hinges on an assignment from Eden College that requires Anya to complete a photo diary. The game presents a variety of venues for these photographic escapades, such as parks, beaches, dog parks, aquariums, and museums. The premise seems straightforward, but it adds an interactive layer to the storytelling, allowing players to experience the Spy x Family universe through Anya's perspective.

The game mechanics go beyond mere point-and-click photography. When Anya finds something that piques her interest, players have the opportunity to capture these moments. These well-timed snapshots are then saved as Anya's 'memories,' which could offer an intriguing spin on game progression or narrative depth.

If the allure of photography doesn't capture your interest, the game also boasts over 15 different mini-games. These aren't just random add-ons; they are rooted in scenes familiar to fans of the anime. Activities range from peanut-themed bowling to rhythm-based training sessions with Yor, all designed to earn points that can unlock various in-game items.

Speaking of unlocking, customisation is another feature that aims to enrich player engagement. A variety of costumes and outing items will be unlockable, allowing players to add a personal touch to the Forger family's appearances. And for those who enjoy virtual photography, the game includes a photo mode aimed at helping players capture the perfect family portrait.

SpyxAnya: Operation Memories is scheduled for a 2024 release and will be available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
