Twelve South's Butterfly is the perfect 2-in-1 MagSafe charger for travel
Twelve South has been on a roll with its multi-device charging devices. Its latest device, the Butterfly is easily the best multi-device travel charger for the iPhone and Apple Watch or AirPods.
Dubbed as the world's smallest 2-in-1 USB-C MagSafe charger for the iPhone and Apple Watch, the Twelve South Butterfly is stated to be the size of an AirPods Pro case.
When not in use, the Twelve South Butterfly folds and hold the charging pucks together via magnets. To use it, simply unfold the Butterfly and it morphs into a display stand for the iPhone up to 15W MagSafe chargingto support Standby Mode, or Nightstand Mode for the Apple Watch (supports 5W fast charging for Apple Watch Series 7 or newer), or a flat charging pad for the iPhone, Apple Watch or AirPods.
Despite its petite size, the Butterfly is built with premium materials. It has an anodised aluminium shell and there is a layer of vegan leather to protect the iPhone and Apple Watch while charging.
The Twelve South Butterfly is priced at US$129.99 (~S$173)which puts it in the premium category for multi-device chargers. However, it is actually one of the best offerings in the market if you consider the contents of the retail package.
Twelve South packs a 1m USB-C to USB-C cable, a 30W USB-C power adapterwith US, UK, EU and AU plug adaptors, and a travel bag!
Mophie has a comparable offer with its 3-in-1 travel chargerwhich offers one more charging spot for the AirPods,but its more expensive price tag (US$149.95 or S$229) and lack of travel adaptors put it at an disadvantage compared to the Twelve South Butterfly's wholesome package.
