BlizzCon 2023 announcements: Diablo IV confirms new expansion, World of Warcraft gets 3 epic expansions
BlizzCon made a big-bang return at the Anaheim Convention Center over the weekend, presenting a suite of announcements across its entire range of titles. Here’s a quick summary:
Diablo IV
The revelatory headline for Diablo IV was the unveiling of its first expansion, Vessel of Hatred. Fans can look forward to navigating the new Nahantu region, retracing steps from Diablo 2 and confronting the fate of the diabolical Mephisto. A new class addition promises a fresh dynamic to the beloved gameplay.
World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft (WoW) enthusiasts were presented with the Worldsoul Saga, an extensive storyline set to span three forthcoming expansions, beginning with The War Within scheduled for 2024. This ambitious narrative venture aims to deepen the player's engagement with WoW's extensive lore. Additionally, WoW Classic will enter a new Season of Discovery, alongside the anticipated release of Cataclysm Classic in 2024, bringing with it a host of enhancements including new races and a raised level cap.
Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2 introduced a new tank hero, Mauga, the first Samoan character, infusing the franchise with greater cultural diversity. Alongside Mauga, the announcements detailed forthcoming heroes Venture and Space Ranger, a new map, game mode, and hinted at further updates to the roster of damage and support heroes.
Warcraft Rumble
