Google Pixel Buds Pro users rejoice! New software enables AI powers and 50% lower latency

Pixel Buds Pro Update

Last year'sPixel Buds Pro(read our full review here) was probably one of the more affordable flagship-class true wireless earbuds for Android users, and whileit may be disappointing that Google did not launch any new Pixel Buds during tonight's Made By Google '23 event, they did announce a few improvements to the existing Pixel Buds Pro that would breathe some 'newness' into your 'old' earbuds.

With a new software update, the Pixel Buds Pro will receive two new AI features centered on conversation. First, Clear Calling will enhance voice and reduce background noises on any call youreceive. This is made possible through the additional bandwidth provided by Bluetooth Super Wideband Speech as well as new AI noise-cancelling algorithms. The second feature is called Conversation Detection. As its name implies, your Pixel Buds Pro will know when you're trying to speak and automatically pause any audio you're listening to and turn on transparency mode. Both these features are automatically activated on-the-fly and does not require user intervention or for you to press any button.

The software update will also reduce wireless audio latency by up to 50% compare to the previous firmware. With this update, the Pixel Buds Pro might even turn into one of the better candidates for mobile gaming. If these updates make the Google Pixel Buds Pro more attractive to you, you can get them at the Google Store for S$299.
