MediaTek unveils Dimensity 6100+ chipset for upcoming mid-range phones
MediaTek just announced its latest Dimensity 5G chipset for mid-range phones.
The 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ comes with two ARM Cortex-A76 big cores and six ARM Cortex A-55 efficiency cores, which allows it to support 108MP camera sensors with AI enhancements, 10-bit displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz.
MediaTek also integrates a 3GPP Release-16 standard 5G modem with up to 140MHz 2CC 5G Carrier Aggregation. This translates to up to 40% faster downlink speeds in urban environments, and up to 30% faster downlink speeds in suburbs compared to competing chipsets.
The Dimensity 6100+ also ships with MediaTek's 5G UltraSave 3.0+ technology, which offers 13 – 30% greater power efficiency compared to competitor alternatives in common 5G sub-6GHz connectivity scenarios.
MediaTek's HyperEngine 3.0 Lite Gaming technologies deliver longer gameplay, faster network responses and a more reliable connectivity for mobile gamers.
The first smartphones powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset are slated to be available in Q3 this year.
