PRISM+ joins the list of TV manufacturers with mini-LED smart TVs
PRISM+ announced the launch of U-Series 4K Mini-LED QLED Google TV. Mini LED displays, use more, smaller LEDs to power the backlight and deliver deeper blacks, and produce pictures with better contrast, and colour reproduction.
The company says what sets its mini-LED range of TVs apart from the others, is its use of a Quantum Dot layer, better known as QLED, that is outfitted onto the display panel. Combined with the Mini-LED display, this allows the screen to achieve a wider colour gamut of up to 125% so viewers can enjoy their preferred content in its full glory.
Available in two models, a 65-inch (U65 mini-LED) and 75-inch (U75 mini-LED), the TVs come with a 4K UHD display, 1,400nits of brightness, up to 120Hz refresh rate, two HDMI 2.1 ports, HDMI eARC, motion smoothing technology (MEMC), Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, and HDR10+. In a move to support gamers, the two TVs also come with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM).
Going big with a 100-inch Google TV
This year PRISM+ is also adding two super-sized additions to its QLED family of TVs. The Q86 Ultra and Q100 Ultra are 86-inch and 100-inch 4K UHD QLED displays respectively, with the Q100 Ultra the largest display to come from the company.
The displays come with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 400nits (Q86 Ultra) and 600nits (Q100 Ultra) of brightness, two HDMI 2.1 ports, HDMI eARC, HDR 10+, ALLM, VRR, MEMC, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS TruSurround. However, the Q100 Ultra also comes with Full-Array Local Dimming and 2.1.2 Channel sound that the Q86 Ultra lacks.
Alpha series refresh
Following the launch of its Alpha series of TVs last year, PRISM+ is refreshing the series and introducing a new model. In addition to the 55-inch and 65-inch from last year, the company will also add a 77-inch display to the Alpha Series family.
Similar to the other model announced today, the Alpha Series OLED TVs will also come equipped with 120Hz 4K display panels, as well as two HDMI 2.1 ports to better serve console gamers.
The TVs also come with 850nits of brightness, HDMI eARC, ALLM, VRR, HDR 10+, MEMC, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, and a built-in 2.1.2ch surround sound system.
