Specs of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy S24 chip leaked
Similar to the Galaxy S23 series, Qualcomm is likely to be preparing a customised Snapdragon platform for the upcoming Galaxy S24 series, and the purported specs of the custom mobile platform have been revealed by tipster @heyitsyogesh.
According to the tipster, the "Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy" platform will have its prime core slightly overclocked from 3.3GHz to 3.4GHz. The GPU is also said to be overclocked for better AI performance.
On the other hand, the two performance and efficiency core clusters will be slightly underclocked which is strange considering that Qualcomm did not underclock cores for "Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy" or other variants.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was announced last month, and itwill be used by various smartphone makers to power their 2024 premium flagship phones.Xiaomi's Mi 14 series as the first phones to use it.
What's impressive is that benchmark results published by Qualcommshow the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 outperformingApple's equally new A17 Pro chip in some tests.
Since Samsung is tipped to unveil the Galaxy S24 series in January 2024, it won't be long before we know how powerful the "Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy" platform is.
