The entry-level Galaxy Buds FE completes Samsung's lineup of true wireless earbuds

The Galaxy Buds FE is the entry-level earbuds in the Galaxy Buds lineup.

Joining the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets is the Galaxy Buds FE. Like the other FE devices, these earbuds were designed to deliver the best blend of performance and value to their owners.

To ensure a serene listening experience, the Galaxy Buds FE feature an in-ear design – just like the Galaxy Buds2 and Galaxy Buds2 Pro– to passively block out noise.

This is further augmented by its active noise cancellation function – a feature more commonly found on higher-end and flagship earbuds. And if you need to stay aware of your surroundings, the Galaxy Buds FE also has an Ambient Sound mode that lets you hear what's around you.

The Galaxy Buds2 FE is available in Black and White.

The Galaxy Buds FE also has features like Easy Pair for quick setups and Automatic Switching that lets you quickly switch between different Galaxy devices. Another nifty feature is Offline Finding, which lets you locate your earbuds if you happen to misplace them. These features are also found on the pricier Galaxy Buds2 and Buds2 Pro.

You are not missing out on battery life either. Samsung claims up to 6 hours of music playback with ANC on a single charge and up to 21 hours in total. That's actually more than both the Galaxy Buds2 (5hrs and 20hrs) and Buds2 Pro (5hrs and 18hrs).

Where the Galaxy Buds FE differ is in its driver configuration. Instead of dual drivers, it has a single 6.5mm dynamic driver. It also lacks Adaptive EQ so it cannot automatically adjust its output to accommodate the shape of your ears.

We've been told that Samsung plans to sell covers for the Galaxy Buds FE like this Minions one.

Unfortunately, the venue was really noisy so we can't comment on sound quality, but what I'd say is that they seem to fit well. The charging case is also very compact and will slip into pockets easily. Beyond that, we definitely more time with them before we can comment on them.

Availability and pricing

The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 FE will go on sale on 20 October 2023and will be priced at S$158.

Alternatively, you could also get them by purchasing either the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ or Galaxy Tab S9 FE between 20 October and 10 November 2023, because any purchase of the two tablets will come with free Galaxy Buds2 FE earbuds.
